North American Migration Count

The annual spring bird survey of Manistee County will be held on Saturday May 12th.

This covers more territory than the Christmas Bird Count, the entire county is included and we will attempt to count every bird of every species present that day in the county from Egrets to Buntings.

Strategy review at the April 11, and May 9th Audubon meetings at Lake Bluff Audubon Center.

Count center is at Fisk Rd. and US 31 and the count circle extends from this center point 7.5 miles east to nearly Brethren, north to just south of Bear Lake, west to Lake Michigan, and south to the Little Manistee River.

Optional brown bag lunch and warming up at the Allen's house at 5539 Bar Lake Rd. from 12:30 till 1:00. Free hot chocolate to all field observers that see at least 25 species for the morning, all others must BYOHS.

November Audubon meeting coming up!

Join us Wednesday November 9 at 6:30PM at the Lake Bluff Audubon Center

The program for the evening is Greg Miller from the Michigan Bluebird Society.

Also this evening is the annual potluck and election of offices and of course time for your bird and wildlife observations from this fall. Hope to see you there!
